We use Odormute for just this. We have two dogs and they frequent an area just outside the backdoor next to the patio... so rude... It's a powder in a red and white box.

We bought it at the pet shop and it's basically an organic odor neutralizer made of enzymes. It's to mix with water and apply to your dog if the skunk gets them.

You can, however, use it on carpet (can even put in the carpet cleaner machine), kennels and like we do... mix it in watering can and water that area of our yard.

Good luck!

Powdered lime will work and will not hurt the lawn.

to stop them from using thay spot, and move them to another, put a sprinkler at there favorite spot, which happens to be by the door.
they will pick another spot, it won't work imediatly, put they will move
