Does any one know how how to comtact either of the above? I would like to suggest that they indicate the planting zone and state that is being addressed on each episode. This would definitly help the viewers like myself who like to address landscaping issues as it would apply to my own property.
there are legitimate snail mail addresses listed in the "terms of service" area on the website for DIY, as well as an area related to intellectual property, which I can't remember where it is.
if "Desperate Landscapes" is in current production, the "Be on DIY" link on the home page, top right, will usually be seeking folks who want to be subjects on the show. contact info will be there for the producers.
but there will often be a shout out once or twice during a show, of the variety of, "Hermione Q. Phosbott's neighbors in East Noplace, Florida, were shocked at what her overgrown shrubs were hiding." from which, the careful viewer would determine this show was done in Florida, zone 9 or 10.
you can tell a lot by the plants they pull off the truck and place in the lot. if they are using magnolias and tulip trees, you can bet they aren't in Langdon, North Dakota or Embarass, Minnesota. pull out your garden book and look up what they're using in the perennials and trees, to see what zones they're in.
