Looking for honest, reliable, licensed deck builder/carpenter in Lakes region of NH to build a new deck for my new home. One that exists is in very poor condition.Looking for a free estimate first as well as all credentials.
It's really not appropriate for anyone to recommend specific contractors on a public forum, but you can do your own research then get written estimates from a few contractors to compare.
Contact NH's state department of licensing and regulation to find out how to check their list of licensed contractors of carpenters. You can check their websites, but websites are typically glitzy and are only going to have positive information.
You might, however, be able to get an idea of the range and scope of their projects to determine if they've done what you want done to your deck. Then contact some for estimates.
Ask your local municipal code enforcement department if they maintain lists of licensed contractors and/or carpenters, and if so, contact some of them for estimates.
Write up your own work scope and give it to contractors you interview so they're all writing estimates for the same work; some may determine that other work is needed so you want to be sure you can compare them sensibly.
Some folks check Angie's List; that's an option as well.
Thank you Garden sprite I appreciate your input. Figured maybe someone on here lives in the area but very good advice thank you.
