There is nice 25-30 yr Full Dimensional Shingles which have different styles you might be interested in. For my own projects I like to find them when they go on sale.
I would go with shingles and just do a tear off, add drip-edge if has none. gutter apron if needs some, new valley if has any, new shingles, ice water and tar paper, new vents.
Save an arm and a leg.

I've had customers try to pay me more to have our nails lay flat. I tell them, i roof it like i would roof my own house. Of course the nails are flush and not a shiner or leak'r.

Call them and ask if allowed, if you haven't yet.
