Should i get a metal roof

Our home's roof is 19 years old and i am considering a replacement. I want to know whether I should get a metal roof in place and what are the advantages over asphalt shingle roof. What would be the cost? Also I am looking for a roofing contractor for the job. I am in Toronto and is there any good roofing company where i can get both the material as well as installation service? I have heard about Roof Lines East Inc. Roof Lines East Inc. What about these guys?

Metal roof on house which has existing asphalt replaces with Asphalt usually unless you want to spend more money and time.
There is nice 25-30 yr Full Dimensional Shingles which have different styles you might be interested in. For my own projects I like to find them when they go on sale.
I would go with shingles and just do a tear off, add drip-edge if has none. gutter apron if needs some, new valley if has any, new shingles, ice water and tar paper, new vents.
Save an arm and a leg.

I've had customers try to pay me more to have our nails lay flat. I tell them, i roof it like i would roof my own house. Of course the nails are flush and not a shiner or leak'r.

Metal roof "on house" perhaps is not allowed by your local building dept.
Call them and ask if allowed, if you haven't yet.

I wouldn't go with metal simply because they're louder when it rains and they absorb too much heat. That and I just don't like the way they look.

I don't know the manufacturer, but I've seen a model metal roof that has a traditional looking shingle material adhered to it. Looks good and the adhered material dampens the sound.

Both are good at their point but one thing I like about metal roofing over asphalt shingle roof is attractiveness. Metal roofs looks well as compare to asphalt shingle roof.

our spammer has changed their screen name, but not their crummy Asian continent grammar. for that matter, most other continents' languages do not respect the use of the definite article. maybe it's because the rain on their rusty tin roofs keep them from getting up in time for foreigh grammar class.

he is right, rooms with metal roofs become more hotter then normal roofs in summer and more cold in winter. i don`t prefer the metal one.
