My home is a 1997 rancher. I have 5 windows across the front. The front door is to the right of 3 windows and 2 on the other side. The house is vinyl Victorian Gray. I want to paint the shutters a high gloss black and the front door red. The front door has 3 panel 1/2 side lights on each side, solid on the bottom half, which are in white now. I also have beefy colonial metal railings which are also white on the porch. The frames around the window are white also. Should I paint the side light panels black as well to match the shutters and I thought about painting the railings black also. I want to new look. Am I wrong in doing this? Suggestions needed. Color is always an opinion thing but I would keep all trim one color(white) all the shutters black and just the front door red. Keep the sidelights the same as the white trim color.
