I'm one of few with no rocks. This fall I ripped out my 3500 square feet of "lawn" (green weeds) and replaced it with 500 square feet of grass, 300 square feet of thick bark mulch and tons of native, drought resistant plants. I couldn't be happier, but some of the neighbors thought I was nuts with the mulch. It has been great and sure keeps the heat down. When it rains, which granted is not often, it smells wonderful.
Sorry Joe, all you'd get to deal with here is stucco cracks, evaporative cooler problems, flat roofs, irrigation systems and houses without basements or attics.
