I just bought a house which has been vacant for 3 yrs. Among the many repairs needed are the eaves. I have no idea how to do this. I have attached a picture of the eave. I have just had the top gutters revealed as this appears to have caused the rot. Please let me know your thoughts or suggestions.

        Thanks!

I meant re-sealed the flat metal gutter things on the roof.

It appears that the soffit is going as well. It looks to be a major fix not someting for a DIY project. I would call a pro and get estimates. The facia is most likely attached to the roof as well as drip edge. All this will ultimately need to be removed and new facia, soffit and gutter.
