idhrsewomanoutdoor table
I have a small bistro table on my front porch. The top is a tile mosaic. The grout has cracked and I would like to redo it. I have cleaned the grout off all the pieces, but I don't know how to stick the tile back on to the table. The base is metal and the home improvement store people say the grout won't stick to the metal. Can I stick the tile down with some sort of adhesive then grout around it? Any ideas? Thanks

JaybeeI would use whatever was used before. Grout is not used to attach tiles to anything, grout is only used to fill the gap between tiles. Tiles are attached with either thinset or mastic, although in cases like yours for tile on an outside metal base some form of exterior construction adhesive may work best.
In any event, the process is to clean all the old material off the tile and then reattach so it sounds like you are heading in the right direction.

harsenshdjaybee is correct that grout is not an adhesive. buy a tube of construction adhesive and try it with one or two tiles. make sure to remove any excess glue that is on the side or top of the tiles.
