I would like to do a simple step walkway with say 1' x 3' rectangles. I've been reading all kinds of articles on doing raised aggregate and have gotten many different ways. I'm just looking for some step by step on doing a small job (including product advice if you have it). I've seen people using chemical retarders, mountain dew, brown sugar and water or nothing as a surface retarder. Do I need to use such a thing if I'm doing such a small job? Any advice on timing and products would be greatly appreciated... Thanks, Chris

You may have to experiment a little to get exactly the look you want, but a water surface wash after the mix has started to cure will expose the aggregate. That timing and the % of aggregate added to the mix will determine how the surface looks. Jaybee
