A day and a half invested in a message board hardly gets into the 'grave error' territory - more like a mild disappointment. There have been a lot of problems solved via this board along with a fair share of personality clashes - internet message boards are not for everyone.

I think I have read most of your short and non-detailed posts from the last day. It sounds like you have many repairs that are needed, what you have done so far (with professionals?) has not gone well and you are on a fixed and limited income. There is just not very much to tell you that hasn't already been said in the last day. Complaints against contractors are common but as you have found, it's a difficult and expensive process to even try to get restitution for poor quality work.

It seems that your main request is to get a lot of major work done without spend much money. Certainly an understandable request that is very common on these boards. Unfortunately, there are no good answers for that one. Many areas have local organizations with volunteers who will help low-income families make emergency repairs but there is not much available for more general remodeling. There are many, many skilled and honest contractors and builders out there who could fix all the problems that you have posted about here. Unfortunately for you all of them will charge for their service - as it should be.

The reality of the situation is that this board can give lots of advice as to HOW to fix your problems but no-one here can do it for you or foot the bill. If that is what you were looking for then it's no wonder you feel that you are wasting your time here.
