I have 3 different projects that I need to address and need some suggestions/ideas. 3. Is this a pediment? I'm not sure what the thought was here. The white trim is aluminum and the edge sits flush to the wall. H 34 1/4", W 19 3/4". (This is on a garage that faces the road.) I do have plenty of leftover yellow vinyl siding that I can use if needed. Thanks for any and all comments. ![]()

I've never seen one that shape. Why not ask to old owner what he planed on doing there? joecaption

Same as the balcony add decorative tile siding between the metal and caulk.

What the heck is decorative tile siding? joecaption

I think the triangles of the windows are part of a theme with the big triangle on the porch roof. The previous owner is deceased, so we'll have to go on what we see. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Washkin,

those triangles are not repeated above any other windows, and that is just exposed housewrap inside. it's an entry for water, and housewrap deteriorates in sunlight over the course of a half year to a year. I'd take the deco off and fix the siding. however, those windows are not equivalent to anything else in the house. does it look like the guy patched the inside wall over them? I'd go for double-hungs and back to the dimensions of the rest of the house. look carefully around the place. I've got a feeling that the previous owner did a LOT of stuff without seeking out best practices, shall we say. This message has been edited. I suppose he could have been try to match that god awful peak on the porch. I'd get rid of that to. joecaption

Got the idea but that type siding takes a wider J moulding and may stick out behind the two vertical pieces. It's also very expencive. Last time I bought some it was around $300.00 a square. joecaption
