DIY project that I have is a Patio.

I am planning to use Envirotile's for this project.
My plan is to build a 180sqft frame out of treated 2x4's and placing them halfway to 3/4 of the way in ground to use as edging.

Next, I plan to layer the inside of the frame with weed barrier fabric to kill all weeds and grass.

Then, fill in the frame with leveling sand to set and hold the tiles in place.

        The GOAL is no digging.
The area that I will be working with is not level. I would post pictures but this is my second time on this site and don't know how to yet.

        Will this Work?

Any good experiance with installing stone pavers or Envirotiles would be greatly appreciated.

anything will work... for a little while.

without excavating the whatever ground you have, and properly compacting a stable base with weed barrier material underneath, it won't last.

no digging? no permanence. no foolin'.

sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?

        #1 2 X 4's are not below ground rated.
#2 As the organic material rots it's going to start sinking.
#3 Weed block is all but useless to stop weeds. Remove the organic material at least 6" below grade, apply total vegitation killer, back fill with #57 or smaller crush stone about 2" then use a compactable material such stone dust, crush and run, recycled concrete, level and compact everything. Lay your pavers, add metal or HD plastic edging then back fill the patio stones with sand.
DO it this way and you only have to do it once and no one's going to be tripping on sagging or lifting stones.

        Chris,

no to 2x4's. Use instead concrete block..such as anchor, ep henry, allan block. Get rid of the vegetation or your patio will settle. You need a proper base or you will pay later. Look at videos or building a raised patio. this will guide you. You don't have to dig much if the patio will be raised, but you need compacted quarry process and then sand. the base is the most important step. Was your house built without a proper foundation? Get it?
