I am looking for ideas of how to use lots of broken slate that is left over from a floor installation.
I just can't stand the idea of just sending it to the dump. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
How about a garden path? You can get some ideas here:
BH&G has an excellent special interest publication on beds and borders which features various paths.
Or create little garden vignettes with a slate area surrounded by containers or a mix of flowers and ornamentals. Add an outdoor bench, arbor or trellis if you have them and you'll have a nice little seating area.
Alternately, if you want to spend the time to match the pieces, generally, by size and shape, you could create a patio. This message has been edited. Last edited by: GardenSprite,
if it's not thick enough for walking purposes, use it as a mosaic.
sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?
Mosaics area a good idea: there are some lovely mosaic designs created for tables as well as for inground designs. They could also be used on (heavy, sturdy) chairs and benches. This message has been edited. Last edited by: GardenSprite,
