I really need help with this. right on the edge of my house there is a water leak. The leak I want to say its from the a/c. when it leaks it leaks all day and never stops. Well it is creating mold on the outside brick. My question is how can I fix the problem or what is my solution so the water does not sit and create mold on the brick of the house. A inexpensive solution if possible.
thank you for your help and time.
All AC units will generate condensation - this is normal. Also normal is that this water is drained outside. It could be as simple as adding on some PVC pipe to route the condensation water further away from the house.
window AC units ship with a little bibb that sticks out from a hole in the pan. slip a piece of hose on there, and you're good to go. if the hose bibb is missing, just push a section of vinyl tubing in there.
you could even run it down the side of the house and out into the garden, but it is likely to plug up at some point from dust or bugs.
some house wash or a little liquid detergent should wash the crud off the siding fine. worst case, add a quarter cup of bleach to a pail of suds.
sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?
