I'm trying to either come up with a DIY design or find something at a reasonable price to purchase to vertical adjust a 40" LCD TV. I need to be able to vertically adjust it "on the fly", so when I'm playing a game, I can lower it to a comfortable position or the few times we watch TV in bed, raise it to be seen more comfortably in bed. Dynamicmounting.com has one that would be GREAT....except for the $500 price tag which is bout how much the TV costt. I had an idea to use a PVC tee slipping over a metal pipe for a main support (more as a stability support) until I started fine tuning the design and realized that may not work. Anything? it would have to be counterbalanced to essentially zero effective weight at the hinging, and adjustable. this is not a trivial project. such a mount would probably weigh twice the TV weight, so you would have to open the wall and essentially place a header in there to lag it into. sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money? | ||||
