jersheinstulation
We are remodling our house and have a few questions on instulation.
1. Use a vapour barrier instulation, or
2. Use a non vapour barrier instulation and then use a poly vapour barrier on the exterior walls (on the inside of the house/room)?
What method would be best to use in Louisiana?
Would we use a vapour barrier on the ceiling instulation?

jershethank you for your reply. our house was built in the 70's and currenty does not have poly vapour barrier. Sence the outside is brick we unsure if the barrier is even required.

Sparky617Your location matters greatly. With the high humidity in Louisiana and mainly AC load vs heating load in the north the designs are different.
This is a good location to look at the preferred design based on your region.

jershemy skills are good. I will leave electrical and plumbing to the pros, but I can do all the instulation and sheetrock. I have downloaded the pdf's and will read them to see what we need to do.
thanks for the information.
