My bathroom has a large (4'x 3'?) mirror that has come off the wall while my husband was painting the room. We've gotten a new large medicine cabinet to put in its place, but don't know how to move the heavy mirror downstairs to the garage. My husband is able to lift a lot of weight, but I have a slight disablility that limits my lifting. Having friends help isn't a real possibility because we live way out in the country. We looked for some kind of handle attachments at Home Depot, but couldn't find anything. Help!!!!!!!!

3 x 4 foot is not as huge as some that I have moved, but for sure it's awkward/heavy to carry. First suggestion would be to beg/borrow/rent some glass suction handles that window guys use. But I bet you are looking for home found items?

If the mirror has no frame or the frame is delicate, then pad the bottom first. That split foam that is used for interior pipe insulation can work really well. (I have used it on the sides of picture frames to protect during transport)

Then I'd wrap the mirror from the bottom up with some old heavy blankets. Sling a loop of heavy rope or strong throw rug section if you have one, under the mirror and lift it this way? He can do most of the lifting and you can help slide and guide it, even down the steps, if you do so carefully. One step at a time.
