I am remodeling my bathroom. Whether I use cement board or have to use a floor leveling compound over the sub floor, should the cement board or floor leveling compound go down before and under the bath tub or should I run the cement board floor leveler up to the bathtub after it is installed. Also, I will be installing a heated floor mat under the floor tile.

usually the tub is installed prior to tile work
this is assuming that the tub is not a claw foot
using cement board is for a wood floor not a concrete floor

put a level on the floor where the tub is to be to see if it is level. If it is not then use the floor leveler before installing the tub.
