I tried this stuff that said used by the pros. I spray it on there and wait twenty minutes like it said and I was basically ripping off tiny tiny little parts of the paper. I tried this DIF blue gel and scored it and sprayed and twenty minutes later still no dice.

Is there any tips or ideas any of you guys use to do this?

It is only a border and it just wont come off.

I used a steamer -its a long and tedious process.

you have to score the surface with a tool made for that purpose
( inexpensive ) then wet the paper. the scoring allows the solvent to reach the glue

After about 5 hours or spraying and taking tiny little parts off one at a time I got like 99 percent of it off. I will just sand out the other parts that got a little paper left hopefully it comes out looking nice. If not I will just paint right over and hopefully nobody notices it.

All the old glue needs to go, then any low spots need to be filled.
They need to be sanding then primed before any painting can be done.

Start by using a wallpaper perforating tool to create hundreds of small holes in the old paper.

Step two. Put a gallon and a half of hot water in a garden sprayer and add to it, an enzyme-based wallpaper stripper

Step three. Spray on the wallpaper stripper starting at the top of the wall. Now you want to thoroughly saturate the old paper. You may have to make two or three applications. Now you may have to give this 20 or 30 minutes for those enzymes to work.

And step four, just peel it off. Now the key to this method is to be patient. Give the stripper time to do its work. You shouldn't have to do any scraping. If there's any residual paste, you can wash that off with some more stripper in a sponge

Nona is right. A friend of mine did the same thing and it worked even though he was too lazy to do the perforating properly
