Hi harleysox,

Your question seems to be a contradiction. You have vinyl windows and wish to hang shades but the the windows only have wood?

To clear up the confusion, take a picture of the window and surrounding area where you wish to hang your shades. Post it and add more details as to what your problem is trying to be more clear as to what the problem is so others will understand. Others here will then be able to offer you more assistance which is suited to your specific problem and help in overcoming it.

Good Luck!

Hang it on the jams (sides) not into the vinyl. The screws will not hold and it's never a good idea to drill anywhere in a vinyl window.
They make spring loaded curtin hangers.
