I prefer wood floors to carpets found in places I rent. What I'd like to do is make a wooden platform that is sturdy enough to hold me, and looks like wood flooring. I'm thinking it might be best to have a bunch of smaller platforms that all fit together, but I don't know anything about working with wood. Any help would be much appreciated.

Then stick with simply adding laminite flooring that can be removed. No platform floor needed.
