Could it be the diaper pail or diaper genie? It may be that there was a really wet diaper one night and it soaked through the bed clothes and onto the mattress or the bumper pad and then maybe down onto the floor. I would remove the diaper pail/genie from the room and do a good sniff test all around the crib and on the floor.
