        Need a way to cover the stairs too keep cool air in

        Me and my friend will be sharing an ac unit between our 2 rooms on the upstairs level of our apartment. The problem is the stairway is between both rooms & we would like to cover the stairs some how to keep the cool air from going downstairs... does anyone have any ideas? Frown

        Post a picture please. Have you bought the AC unit yet? Consider one that you can run duct to - you could duct it to each room and cover the doorway to each room with a heavy curtain.

        We have the same problem....we took a tension rod like what is used for the shower and zip-tied some clips to it. Get it as close to the ceiling as you can. Then we clipped heavy plastic to it to make a curtain down to the floor and wide enough to cover the doorway with a bit of overlap. Works pretty well to keep the cooler air contained....when we can keep our dogs from running back and forth and moving the plastic away from the sides!!! LOL
