I've never had grubs, or at least not to my knowledge. I have discovered inadvertently though that bleach will cause critters in the soil to escape quickly. My recollection is that the grass wasn't harmed, but I can't be sure on this since I only did it once over 20 years ago.
You could try this on a small patch of grass and see if it forces the grubs to escape to the surface, at which time you could kill them.
It's certainly not a very palatable solution, but it might work.
Good luck.

moles would get 'em
or there are many brands of killer granules you can apply to kill them.

Any box store, even Wal-Mart sells the granules swschard mentioned. There is also a natural way to do it. If you key word search "nemotoads" (my spelling sucks as everone knows) or grub control you can check it out. It's a tiny orginizum that gets in side the grubs and eats them from the inside out. One side benifit of getting rid of the grubs is once there gone the moles go away since that's what they eat. " moles eat meat, voles eat veg."

granules are the way to go - bleach is very caustic and will probably make your grass escape quickly too.
in Tx, Armadillos will destroy a yard trying to get to grubs...granules for grubs, .22 ammo for a-dillosThis message has been edited. Last edited by: tstex,

Skunks like to dig grubs up as well.

we got a great neighborhood here... skunks, moles, long rifles, bleach.
might as well get out the whiskey and shotguns, so the kids can have some fun in the front yard, too :-D

The "best" solution is to apply milky spore. This is available at most nurseries. This powder is applied with about a tea spoon's amount every 4 feet, or so. The spores will take about 2 years to work and will stop the grubs from reproducing. This isn't an inexpensive solution but it's weel woth it.
