Help removing basement window sash
I want to remove the window so I can use it to get about 40 studs into my basement. I tried pulling the chains but it doesn't budge.

Vinny,
Can you post a few pictures of close ups? How is the window supposed to operate? Are you supposed to pull the chains and the window tilts in. It is a by-pass window that one of half of the window slides past the other? I can't say I've seen this type of window before. How large is it? It looks like it is probably about 4' by 2' or so, maybe larger?

General Disclaimer

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.

My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I think the chains are supposed to be pulled outward and the window "should" come out. The left side window slides and there is a screen. I'll post a close up.

Does the window slide freely? Or is it stuck as well?
