Need help opening bucket
I'm trying to open a 5 gallon bucket of drywall compound. There are arrows embossed on the lid, but I can't figure it out. Please help.

Generally there are about 6-8 or so large tabs around the rim of the bucket which are held together by a small amount of plastic the same color as the lid. Use a utility knife and cut each of the connecting pieces of plastic. That will free the 6-8 or so tabs so that you can individually lift each tab toward the top of the lid. Once all are lifted slightly the lid should come off. You can hear a click when you have lifted each tab enough to clear the retaining ring around the bucket.

Karen there should be a piece of plastic covering the drywall compound. Keep it on top of the drywall compound to avoid it drying out. When you finished for the day tap the lid back on with a hammer to seal it off.
