Recoloring an Otoman
We have a cream colored otoman and we would like to change the color by staining or painting. It's leather. We would like it to match our new sectional. Both are in the photo.

Please help

I would think that stain would be your only option other than having it reupholstered. Definitely wouldn't use paint.

I think trying to stain it will be unsucessful as the leather has fixitives in it to keep the original color from changing. I do believe that your attempts will cause it to come out blotchy
But ,then again, what do you have to lose by trying ? You can always get it recovered if you're unhappy with the results

Try Googling Tandy Leather.

We used to dye leathers all the time at a drycleaners I worked for.
Might want to try making some local calls to any that say they clean leathers and furs.
It's done in a spray booth.
We could make old leather jackets look like new.

Personally, you will never get it to match. I would recover it in a coordinating print. That's a big ole block of one solid color you have there. This would be a fairly easy recover job.
