As part of my renovations to the bath/walkin closet I want to feed AC into the closet and bathroom. At present the feed only went to the bathroom. I have a 6" flex duct from the main house AC, dropping into the roof of the bathroom, this is attached to a rectangular box made from duct board approx 12wx8hx24d there was a hole cut in the base of the box that housed a 10x8 vent. I was thinking of adding a run of flex duct to the box and run to another vent in the closet. The closet is 6'x10' and the bath area is approx 8'x 14'. Question is what size flex duct and vent to add to the closet, and is the 10x8 and over kill for the bath area?

Small rooms only need small ducts. Since this is somewhat of an experiment as to how much air you need in these rooms, I would do a takeoff from the main trunk line at 6" - making sure you install a damper at this location. Then continue to run 6" flex and use a 4" x 10" x 6" or a 4" x 12" x 6" boot. The other option would be to use a 6" round boot. All these sizes have vent grills readily available that can also adjust airflow on the final end. Between the grill and the damper, you should be able to adjust things so that you do not get too much heat. 6" flex duct will work fine for distances up to 25'.
