Ideas on how I could finish this area by sliding doors
I just laid out a floating floor with the intention of using some kind of trim where the wood meets the sliding door. However, I didn't have any idea how I would actually do it!

The floor sits about 1/4" below the the door frame on the left side of the pic and about 1" below on the right side.

options abound

1) cut a contrasting strip of wood to lay in the void.

2) cut a step-up of oak to bridge the gap and come up flush with the bottom of the PVC

3) use a transition piece that matches your floor (well, it's wide enough, you will need most of two pieces.)

I'm not listing any of the clown-color solutions.

Maybe this time my pic will load...

Thanks for the ideas. Unfortunately, the ends of the boards are not flush which wouldn't allow me to insert a piece of flooring to make up the gap. I suppose I could use a circular saw to cut the ends evenly but I'm concerned about getting a really straight cut.

I'm new at some of this stuff, could you give me an idea of what the oak or transition pieces should look like?

if you bought "oaky mystique" flooring, for instance, get a box of "blonde swagger" color in the same manufacturer and product line. same height, same characteristics, only the top layer is different. cut to fit. face-nail it in or use adhesive. I'd face-nail it.

alas for the rugged edge on the finished floor. you can run a strip of tape along the edges to see what sticks out, and use an oscillating saw and wood blade to trim it down. fill with a good sealant caulk, because you need to allow expansion/contraction space with any wood or laminate floor to the edges of the room.

that's one possibility.
