Is home security system worth to pay such big amount? I think it’s a little costly that includes the installation charges & monthly charges etc. isn’t it cheaper to get good locks & precautions?

a thug who REALLY wants in will get in. crew-served automatic weapons, guard dogs, and razor wire can cut the number down some. you can't do that.

the drughead who wants a quick score of something they can hock will usually rattle knobs, or climb into an obscured open window, or pull on car handles at 2 AM to see if anything is unlocked. it takes a second for you to fix any of those issues.

in between is the pro thief who, if they see something blingy in the window, will take the risk and break in. an alarm will scare some of them off. a loud angry-sounding dog will also have that effect.
