Table broke, anyone know where to find a replacement part?Go ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
On the table legs there is a small metal piece that acts as a support, it snapped and now I need a new one to get it back together. http://imgur.com/a/qs4nc The metal piece in the attachment is what broke. The link above shows what it looks like, the top part snapped. The top was bent and snapped when a screw came out and the table was leaned on. Where could I get something like this? The table itself is fine, I just need to get this piece and it will be fully functional again. ![]()

you might get a piece of steel tubing to match the diameter of the old part, flatten the ends, drill and bend it to the correct angle

I think nona has the best plan. Doubtful that you can find a direct replacement if the table has any age on it. You can get tubing at any home store. Cut to length, flatten the ends with a hammer or vice, drill a couple of holes and install. Bet you can do everything for under $10. Jaybee

Heating the ends of the steel rod until it is red hot will make flattening them much easier than doing it cold.

That sure looks like a solid rod to me not tubing. Heat and beat, then drill and bend in that order. Buy one of these and you'll be 1/2 way to making two of them. http://www.bing.com/images/sea...EAA9&selectedIndex=2This message has been edited. Last edited by: joecaption, joecaption

you should be able to get some solid steel rod where the angle iron and redi rod is sold in a home center. heat, hammer, drill, bend, and attach. if you live two miles beyond the flat edge of the earth, you can order just about anything from mcmaster.com sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?
