Saw Nicole's show tonite and just have one comment. I noticed the 6-7" concrete driveway poured on the show had no rebar or metal mesh. In Minnesota, wouldn't you have wanted to use rebar/mesh to prevent possible cracking. In Minnesota, there are 2 types of concrete - Concrete that has cracked and concrete that will eventually crack!!!!

Didn't see the show, but they could have mixed in fiberglass reinforcement to the concrete at the plant.
All concrete will crack, that is why they either strike joints when finishing it or cut lines into it after it starts to cure. The struck joints and cuts are to force the cracks into a straight line that won't be noticed.

I have seen reinforcement in the concrete before on this show. I expect the editors fooled you.
doesn't matter where your pour concrete, it has to be reinforced with steel. it also needs to have the evaporation controlled with spray or plastic. concrete "hardens" chemically by locking up water with the cement. if there isn't water availiable for this, you have crumbly crud instead of concrete.This message has been edited.
