I have to make some drawer fronts 6" by 8" and am wondering if it would be best to build them with one piece of wood 6"X 8" or glue together two 3" x 8" boards. Appreciate your thoughts.

I prefer the look of solid wood to glued joints. but you can't always get what you want.

with the exception of stair treads, and the wide plants for my test equipment station in the Ham Cave, searching through the stacks of premium boards at my home center has usually resulted in enough solid board to do my jobs.

sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?

a solid board 6 inches thick will have a tendency to either cup or crack because of heat and /or humidity. I would prefer a glue up and be very careful to get a good grain match. I would also alternate the end grain pattern with the arch on one piece up and the other down. A good grain match on a jointed board will be virtually invisible
