        Meet one of my new kitties, Zazzle. She and brother Dobby were hand-raised by my Texas grandchildren, so of course, we had to bring them home. They proved to be excellent travelers and wonderful navigators. In this pic, Zazzle is helping navigate the trip back from Texas.

        ... and Dobby. They're about four months old now and getting cuter every minute. Both are cuddly and sweet. It's been five years since my cat Gabby passed, and I swore I would not put my heart through such a loss again. Now, I'm thinking about the words to the Garth Brooks song "The Dance."

        And now, I'm glad I didn't know
        the way it all would end, the way it all would go.
        Our lives are better left to chance;
        I could have missed the pain,
        but I'd have had to miss the dance

        So gals, I'm back in the dance and loving it!

        Wow, this is my first posts. I tried a few days ago, and it didn't work. I wonder how long it will be before we're back to posting reduced pics.

        I personally love cats, my last cat lived 16 1/2 yrs, I'd love to get another one, but my DH keeps saying NO! I just might surprise him with a precious kitten some day. Wink
        Your kittens are cute, and DH isn't bad either!

        Kathie, my DH was not a cat lover when we married. He'd always had dogs growing up and I had cats. In fact, when I told him how much I wanted a cat that first year of marriage, he surprised me with a Beagle puppy. Boy was I surprised. I love dogs but they're lots of responsibility. We gave the Beagle to DH's uncle because we were stationed in FL while he was in the Air Force and the sand flees made him miserable. After that we raised cats. DH didn't mess with them much, so they always favored me over him which hurt his feelings. This time I brought a brother and sister from the same liter home, so we both have a cat to love on. DH is enjoying them alot, except when they come in the bedroom at full speed and jump on his belly as he's sleeping. So we're having to keep the door shut at night to get a good night's sleep. But they're okay with that. They snuggle up with each other until they hear us stirring, then announce themselves at the door. So Kathie, convince your husband to get two cats, one for you and one for him. Brothers and sisters are the best match because they have similar temperments and have already worked out the pecking order. For sure, our little boy Dobby rules the food bowls, but his sister can whip him so he won't get too cocky. Pets so make your life richer.

        Marsha,
        I'm the kid who was always dragging a kitten or puppy home and then saying "Mom! Look what I found!" As a matter of fact, I found our last cat at the park, he was a scrawny half starved 4 wk old kitten, I took him home with me and then had a small skirmish with my DH in order to keep the cat. He really likes cats, he just hates cleaning the litter box! Poor Baby!

        I hate the litter box too. Wonder if I could train them to the human litter box and teach them to flush.

        I've heard of that before, but when I think how much work it is potty training kids I don't think I'd be too interested in trying! But then who knows, it might actually be easier!

        My GD has a puppy and is trying to potty train him. He found a spot on my NEW rug to do his thing. She swept him up to get outside, but was to late, puppy poop with every step, lol, missed my rug but got on my kitchen floor. I told her to keep trying and one day he will let her know.

        Shirley, my son brought his dog a few weeks ago when he came to visit. He and his brother went away for the weekend and left me to sit the dog who refuses to go potty outside. My new bedroom rug was soiled in several places, and he put a run in the carpet when we locked him out of the room. I had to take a black light to discover where all he'd peed. We were glad to see buddy go. I'm sticking to cats. At least they use the litter pan.
