Can someone explain to me what the difference is between the pazzle and wishblade cutters? Or are they about the same. I see where the passle has some disks or c.d's you can use for different cut out images, can you buy these for the wishblade or is it strickly computer downloads? Can you scan pictures or designs and cut from them on a wishblade?

well, functionally, they do the same thing. They have the same features and capabilities, only the software packages that they use are different. I find the wishblade software is easier to use but I bet a pazzles user would say the same thing.

Pazzles however have a variety of sized machines, one is the same as the wishblade, one will let you cut directly onto 12x12 sheets and there are bigger ones for more commercial uses.

As far as I know, neither of them will cut chipboard, only the Klic 'n Kut can handle chipboard. Having said that, I've run really thin chipboard through my wishblade and had not too bad results. I had to use the thinnest one since the rollers limit the thickness of the papers that you can put through it. It cuts about half way through the board and I have to finish it with a craft knife after but it's not too bad because I juast follow the score lines. The manufacturers explicitly say though, NOT to put chipboard through it.

For electronic cutters, the Cricut cancut chipboard. You just have to run it through two or three times depending on the thickness and sharpness of your blade. The other machines though, I'm not sure how they differ.

You do get a chip like cart for the WB I've never used mine. You can buy more but why.! There are so many files on line.

WB cutter files
http://www.littlebit.com/Cutter_Files/index.htm

http://www.paperthreads.com/
http://www.thepaintedposie.net/ (bought my WB here great service)

Here are the links I have for WB check them out one is a comparison chart. It may answer your questions. Get the names of the different ones and go to the parent company on line and they will too their own horn.

I know we will not be with out a computer now that we are so acostomed (sp)to them and I don't go to crops - none here. - Well I just started going to one but I don't have time to do that detailed work there! lol.

There are tons of free classes on line to teach you how to use the machines to your advantage...I just don't have time to learn the lessons!!

You will not regret getting one! I will have to post a picture of one of the first cut I made with mine when I get home tonight.

I'm sorry, but they are NOT functionally the same. I owned the pink WB, and recently upgraded to the Pazzles Inspiration. The Pazzles has a stronger cutting force (500g vs WBs 150/230), can cut chipboard, and also cuts a full 12 inches wide. It can emboss, engrave, distress, and also cut out stamps. After having used both software programs I can say in my opinion the Pazzles is a lot easier. Unless you've used both the machines you are talking about, be careful that you don't give incorrect information.

I forgot to add for the OP...yes you can order CD's with images. The Pazzles website has some great ones, and there is also a ton of free files online you can download. You can also import any jpeg or clip art and convert it into a cutting file. HTH

I'm glad to hear about the Pazzles from some one who owns one... I love my WB but if I was buying I probably would buy one... I didn't know about the emboss,.. that sounds great. ITINGDSS do you have some examples that you can post of each of these functions. Does the Pazzle take GSD files? I like the ides of the harder cutting pressure. I have tons of Bazzill paper and it does have trouble cutting that... I try to cut it over than I have to finish cutting it. I love that you can design your own files with WB although I don't have much time to do that!

It say WB will cut 1/2 inch to 8 1/2 inches but because there is a margin around the page it's not exactly 8 1/2 inches. I have told it to cut past the line of the margin ... the shape will be there but I had to hand cut it. I don't need that large a letter often... I used it for a set on our Christmas play. There isn't any thing that I needed a 12 inch cut for that I've found yet. I like the idea of more cutting pressure.

That's good information to have - I would not go to a wishblade after having my cricut expression where I can cut up to 12 x 12 - I use this function all the time for scalloped circles, squares, etc. for background papers - love it - large flourishes are great also.

I'm using my cricut right now to cut from the new arrival cartridge for my daughter-in-law's baby shower - I'm cutting out baby onesies, booties, towels, etc., and going to string them on a line and hang them on the fireplace or wall as a decoration - think they are going to be so cute. I've juse used the fit to page function where it will cut a 12 x 12 page as large as it will fit;

The one failing point in my eyes is that it doesn't read GSD files...but you can convert them pretty quickly through another program. It does, however, cut through Bazzill like butta! lol

I have used the mini monograms, but for the larger circles, I use my Accent Essentials.

I do have a 3" scallop circle and oval punch that I used on the invitation that is a good size for cards. I really like it - It's the Marvy uchida punch

Thank you. Is "accent essentials" a cricut? I do like the new Marvy cutters with the handles. I didn't have much luck with the ones that you just pushed the round circle on top down as they would always stick. I have a 2 inch Marvy oval but I would like to start collecting the larger ones in the circle and oval. I also have the 1 1/2" circle in the EK success that is easy to use.

This is the ones I have - the light purple - giga I think - my scallop circle and oval is 3". I need to get a 2.5 inch plain circle and oval to use inside the scallop.

Mine punch really good and I've enjoyed them.

Yes the Accent Essentials is the cartridge that for a while only came with the Cricut Expressions, but you could find it on ebay. I absolutely love that cartridge.
