A 4x6 photo layout (daily life)

Another "layout" from me this week.
As most of you know, I do much of daily life documenting in 4x6 format that I place in my diary-journal-scrapbook thingy. This one details yesterday's purchase of new patio furniture. It's made using embelishments from the Scrap Girls A NARATIVE COLLECTION (a free, very versatile collection offered some time ago that I like and used before). And, if you like doing Project-365, P-52, or Project Life, working 4x6 format makes such projects doable, esp. if you make use of templates (and there are so many free ones too on the net) I have about ten template layouts that I use most of the time, making little modifications here and there, and I stay with similar levels of shades/tints and tones to maintain some sort of cohesiveness. You can also easily turn this type of thing into hybrid scrapbooking

My friend just created a new scrap book cover with the most awesome feathers I have ever seen. It was for his trip to Brazil . He got the feathers from a place that sells high end hair feathers.
I think it was www.moonlightfeather.com
All he did was selected feathers so that the cover would have texture. Super cool!

I too think daily journaling is great and pictures are worth a thousand words. I wish I would journal more.

I wish I lived close to you, Vianna, so you could help me get up to speed on digital scrapbooking. I feel overwhelmed by how much I don't know and how long it is taking me to muddle through.

I love the journal idea. Makes we think about how much of life I've lived undocumented.

I've kept a "journal" since I was 14 - and THAT was many moons ago ... The practice has evolved over the years to include (besides my own thoughts)such things as newspaper clippings, quotes from books I read, song lyrics and poetry that moves me, drawings and doodles, cartoons, and of course, photographs. Since 97 I have been playing with Photoshop and now I include photos almost daily. I photograph a wide variety of things I write about - newspaper headlines, our foods, books I read, purchases we make ... May are "compilations in a 4x6 digital layout, which works very well for me. My journals are like one of those "Smash" books that are now popular where anything and everything gets pasted into (AND journaled about). They aren't very eclectic or artsy, but they document aspects of my life and I'm happy with that. You dont need a lot of time or product to do what I do: a notebook and a camera phone and a willingness to spend a few minutes daily with them.

Marsha: - dont let it overwhelm you; you dont need to know everything, just enough to quickly put together a few photos on a 4x6 LO. I would love to get you started - each and every one of you; the digital process can add a richer dimension to this hobby.

Cheryl: - Journaling doesnt have to be long & time consuming (it can be, if time is available or a story is long and special). But on many days my remarks are bullet points like these:
READING: A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn
DRINKING: Decaf coffee from Panera (my fave, with cinnamon)
FEELING: Sleepy
Other points might be Listening, Eating, Wearing, Weather, Enjoying, Wondering, Needing .... I think you get it. Try it. It makes daily journaling possible.

Here's another example simple digital scrapbooking in the form of a 4x6 photo. Some times I journal ON the photo, other times next to it on the page, and sometime the photo is self explanatory).
