wood floors
I am trying to find out what would be the best wood flooring that I can install in my living room. This wood flooring needs to be able to withstand about four cats and two dogs. It needs to be waterproof, stain and scratch proof. Is there a manufacture of a wood floor that wood guarantee their flooring against all of the above listed items? Thank you for your assistance.

Your picking the wrong material if you need it to do all that.
No such thing as a scratch and water proof real wood floor.
You would need tile to do it all.

Got to agree with Joe on this one. The closest you will get is to instal some of the 'wood look' tile patterns.

No wood and no composite flooring can be guaranteed to be waterproof, stain and scratch proof. The hardest "wood' flooring out there would b some of the composite floating floors - these have an almost formica-like finish. Even so, they can still be scratched and are certainly not immune to water or urine spills.

Note that while no wood floor can be guaranteed that doesn't mean that they would not work for you. We have large dogs and a part of our house has Schoon floating hardwood. After several years there are a few light scratches, but nothing major.

There are actually some High end, commercial sheet linoleum products that can offer a decent wood look. They have 25-lifetime year guarantee too. You will need to look at an actual dedicated flooring store, not just a flooring department of another store or box store.

Unless they are installed directly next to a real wood floor, they are about as close to visual wood as you could want. Because they are commercial quality, they also are available in much wider widths and are still seam-able if necessary.
