I am renovating a house with laminate flooring in the main room and hallway. Several dents have been found in the floor and I would like to know of any way to either fill in or remove these dents. Can anyone give me any help with this?

congratulations, you have a distressed floor. they are all the rage now, the most expensive engineered floors sold are all hand-scraped and distressed.

this is the deal: laminate floor is made of layers of crudwood or plastic with woodgrain printed on the top. it's an ink layer thick, covered with acrylic for wear. there is no sanding out faults, and trying to raise the material with heat will blow the finish.

it could be this is why laminate flooring is less expensive than real solid wood.

somebody dropped something heavy on the flooring, and you're stuck with it, unless you tear up the floor and replace it. I almost said you could take up some of the laminate, move pieces around, and push the ugly to a hidden location. but you will damage enough of the material to have to replace it all.

sorry. you can either not worry about it, or replace it. what I'd do is put the dents on my "29 flaws" list. I keep one in my head for all my projects. some wise acre comes into the house and starts pointing out issues, I tell them there are 29 flaws. find them all and win a prize.

the prize is a trip to the toolbox, and the words, "OK, dumb (donkey), fix it. fix it ALL."

laminate flooring is a photograph on some type of material. It could be vinyl, particle board. even compressed paper. none of which can be repaired
If it is a floating floor installation, you could remove some from a closet or other unseen place and swap it with the damaged flooring

Sorry but I have to agree with the other posters on this one.

the only way to fix those dents is to replace the entire floor. Or, you can do some design magic and cover them with fixtures or a rug perhaps that would hide the dents but not too obviously used for that purpose.

I have seen some videos on using a circ saw to cut out dented boards. Then the bottom side of the new boards get the grooves cut out. apply some adhesive to underside then slip board into place.

Not going to work on laminite.
It needs to float, if any place is attached to the subfloor the rest can start pulling apart.
Only works with real hardwood.
