Morgan2785Acid Stained Concrete - footers showing inside??
I'm new to this site, so bear with me!
We are building our own house and trying to decide on flooring. Our house is on a concrete slab. Per our county building codes, we were unable to pour a monolithic slab, therefore the footers were poured and then the slab was poured inside that. I have attached a picture to show what I'm talking about. The footers are 8 inches wide at the top. The house is built with 2x4 construction, therefore 4 inches of the footers are showing on the inside of the house.
Our original plan was to acid stain the concrete in several rooms. However I'm unsure how this will look now since the (not so smooth) footers are showing on the inside of the home around the outside walls.
Does anyone have any suggestions for this? Is there a way to smooth them out in order to stain the floors?
Our next option would be to put down floating wood floors, however we really would like to do the acid stained concrete.
Thanks for all your help!

joecaption#1 Where's the foundation bolts!
Are you willing to wait at least 30 days for that concrete to cure before etching it and staining?
Unless you go with 2 X 8 walls your stuck.
They could have used 6" block as the top row if they knew that's what type flooring you were going for, but it is what it is now.
