I have a new concrete basement, how should I lay my floor tiles do I need the orange underlayment on concrete, and what is best type of thin set ** use.

I seen on diynetwork ** use white thin set on marble tiles so dark don't show through, and use dark thin set for darker tiles,
        do you no best kind.

        Thanks Linda

You can install directly on top of the concrete slab. you can also install a Kerdi liner, which will help isolate minor slab crack from the tile. So using the Kerdi is better, not necessary, but more expensive in time and materials.

In most cases, you can use a typical grey thinset. If you are using a light grout, it could help to use a white thinset.
