I have pliwood subfloor upstairs. I pulled up vinyl sheeting. Do I have to clean up all adhesive before laying floating laminate flooring. What can I put under it to help sound proof because it is up stairs.

To late now but the vinyl could have been gone right over with laminite.
Your going to have to remove all the old glue now if it's sticky, go over it with 1/4 A/C plywood or use cork underlayment.
About the only way to quiet down that floor from above is to add more plywood from above.
Sound proofing really needs to be done in the room below in the ceiling not from above to really make a differance.

Thanks for the info. Vinyl was to messed up to leave. Adshevise left on floor is not sticky, just mostly down middle of room, not all over leaving floor unlevel

When approaching doorways or walls, you will need to cut your planks in a staggered fashion to get the best lock across the whole floor. When making your cuts, use a sturdy table saw with a fine blade. Many people attempt to use a circular saw for these cuts and find themselves throwing away too many pieces of chipped planks.

No table saw needed, sure ot could be used but it's not required.
If the pieces are chipping it's because your cutting it from the wrong side.
Look at the saw blade and the direction it's running.
With a table saw you would cut it with the good side facing up.
With a compound mitre, ciruler or jig saw the good side would face down.
