I am going to put down prefinished hardwood floors in my main living space. There are way to many products to choose from. I am wondering if someone has some tips about picking the right engineered hardwood that will stand up to kids and dogs. Handscraped hickory is what I think I want. Any advice will help
Pre-finished flooring is a you-get-what-you-pay-for kind of thing. Once you are in the medium to high price range you get the better stuff.
Look for product lines that have a thicker top layer of real wood for the floor surface.
Thanks for responding. I am having trouble finding that info. Could you make a recommendation on a good brand to start with. Money isn't a huge issue as long as it is a quality product. Not sure if you can endorse products on this board but a couple names would give me some place to start. Thanks
Are you looking for a nail-down, glue down, floating?
I think I'd start at Lumber Liquidators - take a look on-line.
Nail down. Do you know of a website that does comparisons on floors?
