linoleum is fairly new.should i stop at the linoleum then contiinue with laminate floor and put transition molding between laminate floors as one would be slightly higher, or can i level the floor so i can continue the laminate flooring. Livig rooms is an open floor plan to the dining room.

If it's a floating laminate then you will need a transition strip to give the laminate some movement area. This will work out fine if the laminate is slightly higher - the threshold piece can then be attached to the vinyl and overlap the laminate to give it a covered expansion space.
