I would like to install wood floors in a portion of my house. I would like to run the planks in the direction shown in the attachment but I am unsure of how to continue them down the hallways (outlined in red). Would I continue the same pattern or should I turn them to run down each hallway? If I turn them how would they all tie together? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
Maybe you could do some kind of medallion or diamond pattern at the fork in the hallway, and then continue down each hall.
You really want to run the planks across the hallways at a 90 degree angle - this will tend to make the hallways look wider.
Make your transition at the entry area to both hallways. Scribe a straight line from the common inner corner to the two outside corners. Continue the planking pattern from the large room into this area and then cnange to the 90 degree to hall direction. Looks like you'll have a 45 degree on one run and right around a 90 degree in the opposite direction on the other.
