Justin RomaineFriend put in Hardwood Floors,
I had a friend put in some hard wood floors for me, He did an ok job but he did not take out the molding on the floor then do the floor he just cut it off at the molding so now i have a nice size gap between the wall and the floor. How would I go about to fix this. I have looked at shoe molding but just dont look right is there any other options Thanks.

JaybeeThe easy fix is shoe molding or qtr round molding. If that doesn't look right to you then you will need to remove the existing base so you can install a taller and/or thicker base. Even at that, you will likely need some shoe molding to cover the floor gap.

swschradgood news is, you have an expansion gap for the floor, so it won't buckle. bad news isn't that bad if the gap is a half inch or less, any shoe or quarter round will cover it.
do NOT staple it to the floor, but to the base molding on the wall, or you will negate the gap's powers and set yourself up for buckling.
