We just moved into our new house. I have been watching the Yard Crashers show and I was looking on the website for anything kindof like what I'm dealing with but didn't see anything.

Our driveway is at a steep decline and the previous owners did a retaining wall in the front yard so that the hill from the decline did not go all the way to the front door. Looking out from the front door, there is a small area of flat lawn in front of the rock wall. I'm unsure what we could do to change it or if even messing with this hill/wall would be a pain. I could post a pic if necessary for help. Anyone have any ideas?

need more detail... decline which direction, what is the (level) elevation around the yard, what about the surrounding lots, etc.

if "decline driveway" means "everything slopes to the garage and it's full of drowned rats," then you need to rip the drive out, relandscape, and put in a French drain with maybe a sump pump if you're at the bottom of a hill. for instance, drop the driveway to the side away from the house for 8 or 10 feet, cut in a drain trough to a deep French drain a body's length minimum away, and slope the rest downhill to the street. this would minimize the inflow to a point where a control system might do some good.

but need much more info, if you don't have a clean slope to good drainage, things are rough.

unless you want to run a fish farm in the basement. used to joke with a co-worker about that.
