Removing tile backsplash

Removing tile backsplash
is there a way to remove the tile backsplash without ruining the greenboard behing it?

Only if the tile was not attached very well. Removing tile from greenboard will always remove some of the paper. Depending on what is toing back on there you may just skim coat the bad spots or replace the greenboard - usually replacement is the way to go.

You can try but I really doubt it. Even if you don't ruin it you will at least damage it so be prepared for replacing.
