I only saw a portion of the show Kitchen Cousins, where they had formed a counter top out of copper and then topped it with a layer of "something?" It appeard to be something like polyurathane (I guess.) Does anyone have any idea what this something might have been? I'm trying to decide whether or not to build a copper countertop for an undercover, outdoor table, and would like to add some additional protectorant to the copper. Any ideas would be greatly appreicated. Thanks, Steve

I have an artist friend who creates copper wrapped art pieces. She sprays many top coats with an automotive clear coat sealant with UV protection.

She uses quite a bit, and a local auto paint shop puts their mixture in cans for her to spray at home. An auto body shop may just spray yours at the shop if you can transport the table and pick it up.
