Im gutting my kitchen and startin over and I need help with color I want it the wall red and dark cabinets and the black quartz countertops with the sparkles in them or stainless steel countertops with dark cherry wood floors and stainless steel appliances but im worried that it will be to dark and I dont know what to do can anyone help me?

It is going to be dark but you can counter that with windows and lighting. Windows will be hard to change so it's more like evaluating what you have there. If there are any exterior doors from the kitchen, consider making them full glass for more light.

Lighting can be a large chandelier over the table area - choose a style that throws lots of light to the side. Other lighting can be multiple recessed cans to put lots of light into the room with task lighting to spread the light around and lighten up the countertop areas.

Beyond that it's hard to visualize exactly what you have over the internet. You may be able to get a designer or skilled amateur to advise you on color and lighting.

Sounds way, way to dark and uninviting to me.
A simple way to get an idea on just how dark it's going to be, try going on just about every major paint companys web site, or Better Homes And Gardens. Most have an area where you can down load a picture of your room and change the colors right on screen with there color choises.
I've even used that idea to help people make a choise on shingles, siding and shutter colors.

Also keep in mind a dark color will show every water stain or dirt when it comes to things like a back splash.

I'm not Gollum, I like nice warm light. it was a bear to get there from the nasty cabinets and carpet we had in the kitchen when we bought our house. high darkness is not conducive to a cheery atmosphere. I don't recommend it.

ask yourself, like a professional designer would... what are your favorite places? what color relaxes you? what things do your surround yourself with, and what do they look like?

bet it won't be cave decor.

so then consider color packages (every paint maker has them) that have one or more of your friendly colors.

most folks spend more time in the kitchen than anywhere except in bed, eyes closed, sleeping. so it should be a friendly place.

Skylights are good when you have dark appointments in a room and you can do that a lot less expensively than putting in new windows or cutting open a wall and adding new windows.

I think it is better to go with a wood cabinets. The dark cherry cabinets with floor will be a great choice. I think you can also paint it dark with dark brown color and then skylights can make a perfect decoration.Also dark Shaker Kitchen Cabinetscan be an another best choice for your home.

Wooden cabinets with some skyblue walls in my opinions

Have you considered just doing an accent wall? You'll still get a punch of color without making the entire kitchen dark if you only paint one wall.

Quart is an excellent choice for the counter top, but maybe something in a tan or cream to contrast with the dark cabinets. I agree with AZ, instead of doing the whole room in red, maybe just an accent wall or some red accessories. I'm thinking doing the darkest color on the floor and working your way up to the lighter counter tops to have some brightness in the room.
