        Granite matching cabinets?? Sign In/Join
        posted
Hello All we are in the process of completely redoing our whole kitchen and I had my counter top and cabinets all picked out. I thought I would show a couple of people just to see what they thought and one of them thinks the granite doesn't match the cabinets. Its a lite brown cabinet with a brown and white color granite. It now makes me wonder if I made the right choice. Is there such a thing of my granite not going with my cabinets?!?!?! Please help!

it is hard to judge that without seeing them but it sound ok it is a very big decison often with second thoughts. my wife had a lot of second thoughts but after they were in she is very happy. good luck.

Never really heard of the countertops not going with the cabinets, -- but there's no doubt some colors will go better than others.

How are you picking out the countertops -- are you looking at a small sample and making the decision? I find it best to look at the full slabs to see what it will look like. Does your granite supplier offer that? The good shops do, in fact, they tell you to come by and pick out the slabs. At least here on the West Coast they do. I don't know where you're building

They make it look so easy on tv, don't they

there is a lot to be said for contrast and the color wheel, too. I'm with Re-mdlr in that bringing a door to the marble plant is a good idea. but in the end, if you like it, to heck with the whiners.

I have a standing line that there are 29 flaws in every project I do. find them all, win a prize.

I don't tell them the prize is a trip to the tool crib, and the order, "fix 'em yourself, then."

sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?

All you have to do is buy matching granite knobs. It will make everything match perfectly.

If its tonal it should go. Accent with some cream ceramics on your worktops to lighten it up. But i'd have gone with black or white myself... saying that i have wood cabinets with a green/brown flecked worktop at home which i think works (with slate flooring)
